Directions & Parking

The Tennessee Theatre's iconic marquee serves as the centerpiece of historic Gay Street.

Finding the Tennessee Theatre

Please be advised that starting May 1, 2008, a short section of Interstate 40 between James White Parkway and Hall of Fame Drive will be closed for reconstruction. Travelers will still be able to use the directions below to reach downtown Knoxville, as the exits will be open. For additional directions and answers to questions about downtown construction and closures, visit TDOT's SmartFix I-40 website.

From I-40 East: Take Exit 389, Broadway/Hall of Fame Drive. Turn right on Hall of Fame toward downtown.  Go about a mile, through several traffic lights.  Turn right onto Summit Hill Drive. Turn left onto Gay Street at the third traffic light. The Tennessee Theatre is located at 604 South Gay Street.

Parking

Free parking is available for most night and weekend performances at the State Street garage located behind the theater, as well as the nearby Locust Street and Market Square garages.
