Join us for a special community screening in celebration of Pride Month! Experience this 1996 cult classic like never before – on the big screen in a historic theatre surrounded by other movie-lovers, enjoying some popcorn and a cold drink. Before the film, hear the Mighty Wurlitzer organ fill the auditorium with magnificent music, and visit some of our partner organizations in the lobby including Appalachian Equality Chorus, Choice Health Network/Positively Living, KnoxPride, Scruffy City Sisters, The Seed Theatre, SoKno Pride and more!
In this remake of the classic French farce "La Cage aux Folles," directed by Mike Nichols, engaged couple Val Goldman and Barbara Keeley shakily introduce their future in-laws. Val's father, Armand (Robin Williams), a gay Miami drag club owner, pretends to be straight and attempts to hide his relationship with Albert (Nathan Lane), his life partner and the club's flamboyant star attraction, so as to please Barbara's conservative father. This film is 2 hours long and is rated R for language.
